I love to eat!!!! Eating is just so good. I don’t just mean snack and junk food, I mean like real good cooked food. Here below, are so of my favorite foods and junk food I enjoy eating.

Crab Cakes

Delicious and can be eaten as an appetizer or an entree.

Ingredients

1 package ZATARAIN’S® Crab Cake Mix

1/2 cup water

1/4 cup mayonnaise

2 teaspoons ZATARAIN’S® Creole Mustard (optional)

1 pound lump or backfin crabmeat

1/4 to 1/2 cup vegetable oil

ZATARAIN’S® Remoulade Sauce (optional)

Directions

1. Mix Crab Cake Mix, water, mayonnaise and Creole Mustard in large bowl until well blended. Add crabmeat; toss gently to mix. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Shape into 2-inch crab cakes.

2. Heat 1/4 cup of the oil in large skillet on medium-high heat. Carefully add crab cakes, a few at a time.

3. Fry 4 minutes or until golden brown, turning once. Drain on paper towels. Repeat with remaining crab cakes, adding remaining oil as necessary. Serve with Remoulade Sauce, if desired.

Potato Salad

Turkey Necks

Ingredients

1 lb deli cut turkey necks
2 cups chopped celery
1 whole chopped onion
garlic powder
black pepper
Chef Paul’s Poultry Seasoning
cayenne pepper

Directions

In a large stew pot, combine the turkey necks, celery and onions. Cover with water just above the meat and veggies. Bring to hard boil, then cover pot with top and boil at medium for 1 hour. After 1 hour of cooking, add your seasonings. Continue to boil for 1 1/2 hours or until meat is tender. Add water if necessary. Serve over steamed white or brown rice and gravy.

 

 

Boiled Peanuts

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of raw “green” peanuts (not the color green, but fresh raw peanuts which are called green peanuts)
  • 1/4 cup kosher salt (or 2 Tbsp table salt)
  • 4 cups water

Optional seasoning

  • 2 Tbsp Old Bay Seasoning, smoked paprika, shrimp boil mix, or even star anise
